Under the name of Recurvirostridae are those breeds of Wading Birds that live in tropical and temperate world areas. The morphological feature are long and thin paws which allow to birds to walk on the shallow waters searching food. They eat small invertebrates that usually are caught with their long and thin beak. Within Allevamento Poggio di Ponte there are two breeds of Recurvirostridae: the Black-Winged Stilt (Himantopus Himantopus) and the Pied Avocet (Recurvirostra Avosetta).
