Under the name of Charadriidae there are those breeds of Wading Birds that live in damp and marshy areas. Within that subgroup there are also other two groups: the Vanellinae which includes lapwings and also the Charadriinae which includes plovers and many others. Usually they are small birds with proportioned paws and beak, so they result more solid than other breeds of Wading Birds which usually are characterized by long and thin paws and beak. They eat small invertebrates and worms. Within Allevamento Poggio di Ponte there are 3 breeds of Charadriidae: the Golden Plover (Pluvialis Apricaria), the Northern Lapwing (Vanellus Vanellus) and the Blacksmith Lapwing (Vanellus Armatus).
