Call Duck is a small and domestic duck and it is breed in all the North of Europe where there are also many Call Duck clubs. These breed comes from the Mallard (Anas Platyrhynchos), as many other breeds too and is was created just for an ornamental purpose. In Italy, Call Duck is breed in the Veneto region and many scientific men (Doctor Alessio Zanon) define this duck as simple white Mallard (Anas Platyrhynchos) that lives in some half-wild populations, rather than a real breed. Call Duck is gregarious and also sympathetic, female makes a very high and peculiar sound which can be recognized also far from there. Call Duck loves ponds and little water places and in its daily routine it always searches invertebrates, insects and also roots; it is omnivorous but it also eats grains, above all maize. As Black East Indian, Call Duck male can has also three females that builds nest, preferably near hedges because the vegetation is rather dense. Usually the nest is build on the ground but sometimes it can be inside a wood buildings that are prepared by humans. Call Duck is suitable to breeding because it reproduces so fast, also three times a spring. Because of this they are also like some “nurses” for the incubation period of other eggs which belong to other breeds whose this work is difficult and complicated. Call Duck ducklings are completely yellow and also after some days they eats without the help of their parents so they are mixed with other different ducklings and they teach them how to eat. The young are similar to their mother and they become adults after 8-10 months. There are many differences between male and female. Males are bigger than their mates, they have no voice and they have more brilliant colors. Both members of Call Duck have a very short beak and yellow-orange paws. There are several color variety and some are very rare. The more common are the white, the wild and the spotted one.
