Lahore is raised since a long time in Lahore area, in Pakistan, and it was spread in Europe in 1880. Lahore is a big, solid and not too much long dove and it has a quite horizontal body posture. The main features of this breed are the original design and the extremely elegant and refined posture. Within Allevamento Poggio di Ponte there are 3 different color varieties of Lahore: white-black, white-red ad white-silver.
MAIN FEATURES OF THE BREED
Head: Big, large, with an extended superior side but, however, it isn’t flat and it has rising forehead and curved as much as possible.
Eyes: Big, with dark iris. Contours are thin and red.
Beak: Medium length, solid and flesh-colored. It is tolerable a faint dark hue on nostrils, above all in the young.
Breast: Large, rounded and full. As much full and developed is the breast, as precious is the dove.
Back: Large, slightly inclined to the back.
Wings: Large as much as possible, closed and they are carried on the tail.
Tail: Medium length, it is composed by large feathers, well closed and slightly inclined to the back.
Paws: Medium length, with an elegant posture. Foot are medium length, plumed.
Plumage: Smooth, not too much close-fitting to the body.
Coat: Black, silver, red, yellow, blue with or without black bars, blue-silver with quite dark bars, blue dabbed black, “allodolato”, dark stone and red barred.
