German Beauty Homer is a dove which looks intense, good reproductor and an excellent flyer. It is short and solid, its body is elegant, wedge-shaped and it is carried almost horizontally and together to all other parts of the body gives elegance and harmony. German Beauty Homer is a breed that was created in Germany at the end of last century through accurate choice between beautiful Homing Pigeons and other similar breeds. Within Allevamento Poggio di Ponte, German Beauty Homer is in its traditional totally white coat, dabbed and blue barred.
MAIN FEATURES OF THE BREED
Head: Above eyes it is large but it narrows becoming wedge-shaped coming down to the beak tip.
Eyes: Big, prominent and very expressive. Contours are thin, delicate and well developed. Iris is red.
Beak: Medium length, solid, well-proportioned, full and with a blunted tip when it is closed. Nostrils are delicate, rested on beak, well close-fitting and smooth. They have an oblong form and are covered by white cream-color.
Breast: A little bit developed and a little bit deep.
Back: Short and solid, it isn’t strong or awkward. It is rather elegant and horizontal.
Wings: Well closed and composed by large flight feathers. The back shall be well covered by wings.
Tail: Short and closed.
Paws: Medium length, the under side of thighs is covered by a very snug plumage. Nails have the same color of beak.
Plumage: Well developed, smooth and well close-fitting to the body.
Coat: Blue with or without bars, dark stone, red dabbed, red fringed, black, white, yellow, tabby and spotted in all well-known colors.
