Gascoigne Pigeon reminds, in its figure and form, a solid country dove whose posture is quite horizontal. It can have smooth and rounded head and smooth tarsus. It was selected in France and used as bird call in wood pigeon hunt. It can be easy to tame, it is similar to wood pigeon in movements and appearance. Within Allevamento Poggio di Ponte, Gascoigne Pigeon is in its traditional blue-silver variety.
MAIN FEATURES OF THE BREED
Head: Elongated, rounded, smooth with curved forehead.
Eyes: Iris is orange. Contours are thin and their color varies from soft to dark in relation with more or less intense plumage.
Beak: Medium length, it is black in blue-silver subjects. Nostrils are delicate.
Breast: Large, deep and well rounded.
Back: Large to shoulders-deep, slightly inclined.
Wings: Long, well closed and close-fitting to the back.
Tail: Long and close.
Paws: Medium length, without feathers.
Plumage: Well developed and close-fitting to the body.
Coat: Black, yellow, red, soft blue, blue-silver.
