Carneau is hailing from North France and it comes from many crossbreed between Red Mondain and country doves. Carneau is a rather solid, middle-sized dove, it has a large breast and a posture slightly inclined downwards. Its weight is about 600 grammes for female and 675 grammes for male. Within Allevamento Poggio di Ponte, Carneau has 2 color varieties: totally red coat and totally yellow coat.
MAIN FEATURES OF THE BREED
Head: Medium size, always smooth, refined, a little bit extended and regular.
Eyes: Intense. Eyes contours are rather narrow, soft and they form a circle rounded as much as possible.
Beak: Rather thin, soft and medium length. Nostrils are white, smooth and close fitting.
Breast: Well developed, large and deep, with well straight breastbone.
Back: Large, quite rounded and it is inclined downwards.
Wings: They are not so long, well close-fitting to the body and they lay on the tail without cross themselves.
Tail: Well closed, not so long, it stands on the line of the back.
Paws: Are distant each other, medium length, rather solid. Nails have the same color of the beak.
Plumage: Smooth, well developed, not so close-fitting to the body.
Coat: Totally white, red or yellow.
