Berlin Short Faced Tumbler is short, curled up and small. It has a proud posture when it is in position and with intense nature. It was created in Berlin in 1850 through some crossbreed between Altstammer and other breeds. Within Allevamento Poggio di Ponte, Berlin Short Faced Tumbler is in its copper and black softened variety.
MAIN FEATURES OF THE BREED
Head: Small, smooth, rounded, with large and ascending forehead.
Eyes: Iris is large and has a soft pearl color. Contours are thin and in proportion to those of beak.
Beak: Downward curved, it forms an obtuse angle with the forehead. It is short, thick and with blunted edge.
Breast: Large, prominent, carried up.
Back: Short, large at shoulders-deep.
Wings: Short, well closed, carried under tail. If it’s possible they shall also have the same posture in “pica” and copper varieties.
Tail: It is horizontal when dove is in position.
Paws: Medium length, they have a thick plumage.
Plumage: Short, composed by large feathers.
Coat: In only one color, “civetta”, “zarzano”, “pica” and copper. The most popular colors are blue, black, pearl, “Isabella”, silver, red and yellow.
