Seldschuk Dove is breeding in Turkey for many centuries. From 1980 it was introduced in Europe, especially in Germany. It has a solid aspect, with thick plumage and horizontal body posture. Tail is particular and is carried on high. Paws are covered by a thick plumage and head form can be variable. Within Allevamento Poggio di Ponte, Seldschuk Dove is in its traditional silver variety.
MAIN FEATURES OF THE BREED
Head: In proportion with the body which is solid. It is elongated, smooth and has curved forehead.
Eyes: Dark iris in soft subjects. Eyes contours are thin in relation with the coat.
Beak: Medium length, not so sharp, in soft subjects is flesh-colored. Nostrils are smooth and a little bit developed.
Breast: Large and rounded.
Back: Large and rounded.
Wings: Are at the tail-deep.
Tail: Big, is carried on high, it forms a “V”. This feature characterizes Colombo Seldschuke from all the other Colombi di Struttura.
Paws: Medium length. Nails shall totally touch the ground and the short feathers shall also cover nails.
