Nuremberg Lark was created in Franconia, in southern Germany, in Nuremberg, from which this breed takes the name. This dove, in its appearance, reminds a country dove, has tarsus without feathers and with proportioned and smooth head. Within Allevamento Poggio di Ponte, Nuremberg Lark is in its traditional golden coat with “lark” shoulders.
MAIN FEATURES OF THE BREED
Head: Smooth, equally rounded.
Eyes: Dark iris. Contours are smooth and red.
Beak: Medium length, it has a soft horn color. Nostrils are smooth.
Breast: Slightly large and well rounded.
Back: Slightly inclined.
Wings: Long and well close-fitting to the body.
Tail: Closed.
Paws: Medium length, smooth.
Plumage: Smooth and close-fitting to the body.
Coat: There are 2 different color varieties: “allodolate” and “farinose”, with or without bars.
