Franconian Velvetshield

Franconian Velvetshield is hailing from central Franconia, in southern Germany. In its form reminds to a country dove, because it is solid, elegant, with smooth head and tarsus without feathers. Within Allevamento Poggio di Ponte, Franconian Velvetshield is totally white with black shoulder.

MAIN FEATURES OF THE BREED

Head: Well curved, rounded and smooth.

Eyes: Dark iris. Contours are double and red.

Beak: Medium length, flesh-colored, well blood-soaked. Nostrils are flat.

Breast: Full and well rounded.

Back: Slightly inclined.

Wings: Long and well close-fitting to the body.

Tail: Close, it continues the back line.

Paws: Medium length, red and with tarsus without feathers.

Plumage: Well close-fitting to the body. Primary wing-feathers which secrete fat are well developed.

Coat: Black, red, yellow, blue with black bars, blue with white bars, blue without bars, blue dabbed black, blue-silver with or without dark bars, blue-silver dabbed dark, red with bars, yellow with bars, red dabbed, yellow dabbed.
